Very heroic, a little bit menacing and not at all shy - it's in your face, balls out exhilaration.

High paced due to the continuous underlying percussion and string ostinato that drives it, the main themes appear through the legato strings, perfectly complemented by interwoven brass and woodwind lines. Key modulations help reset the progression of each section for a continued growth in intensity, setting an unrelenting, hectic mood of suspense, action, mystery and drama.

Serene piano and string track. Mid paced, but lively thanks to the main piano theme that repeats within the orchestra, it builds calmly throughout the first half until it breaks into a more string focused piece, where the solo legato violin plays over marcato string shorts and high piano accents. An emotional and tender piece - light and innocent with a touch of curiosity.

Spooky, skeletal track with a captivating atmosphere. Stripped to the bare bones, it's quite minimal, but uses the space to great effect, allowing the darkness to weave through the gaps. All the creepiest instruments are there: music box, glockenspiel, echoing percussion ... all leading and accompanying the playful strings, ghostly piano, lurking bassoon and carnival accordion for an unnerving experience of delicate, haunting beauty. Chills.

Starting with an Aboriginal flavour for a sense of vast, faraway lands, it's soon transformed into an epic orchestral piece, full of drama and tension through percussive hits, brass swells and string ostinato. Grand and majestic with an adventurous, action filled undertone, it also hits the inspirational and awesome buttons.

Featuring the whole orchestra in a well constructed, well paced action sequence, it's full of percussive hits, fluttering tremolos, cascading wind runs, brass stabs and a whole pit of underlying menace. A tense action epic. The title may be a bit misleading if you're expecting the classic John Williams score, but there's certainly dramatic tension and plenty of big screen atmosphere. Accentuated off-beat rhythms using percussion and strings, raspy brass swells and enhancing woodwinds all contribute to an edgy, pointed piece with a dark and sinister side.

Cinematic piece, featuring piano and orchestra. A simple and traditional melancholic piano theme opens, juxtaposed by modern shrill electronic pulses to immediately give a sense of the unusual. It breaks into a lush orchestral theme with legato strings, rich brass and fast moving marimba, building in intensity to a majestic climax with fanfare brass and timpani hits. Not to last, it drops back to the orignial theme and calmer style to finish a piece that has a diverse landscape of emotions, evoking sadness, reflection, wonder and longing.

Magical and mysterious in its gently flowing piano lines and shimmering high strings, it builds on the theme with faster string ostinato and legato melodies, gradually turning into a deeper, more epic interpretation with added brass, woodwind and percussion. Without limiting yourself to the fantasy genre as it works for many other situations, think more 'fairies and elves showing their powers' than 'horsemen of the apocalypse'.
