Cinematic dubstep with a promise to explode - but doesn't. A great tension builder with a foreboding intensity that grows through palm muted electric guitars, epic horns and synth textures. Mixing orchestral themes with aggressive rock and a slamming beat generates the powerful anticipation. After that, it's up to you where you position it, but it can hit hard.
Futuristic and apocalyptic track. After starting with a pulsing, time-ticking build up to generate tension and a suffocating intensity, the pounding industrial percussion, screaming synth leads and grinding sub bass are let loose to fry your brain. Staggered and disruptive throughout but somehow generating an underlying rhythmic stability, it's certainly an effect rather than a melody.
If you like your epic orchestral tracks with a heavy dose of sound design, this is the one. With all the usual cinematic tricks of string ostinato, huge brass lines and strong rhythmic accentuation, this adds an evident electro synth element right at the front. Sweepers, drops and pulses abound, it maintains its hybrid style for a relentless adrenalin fuelled attack of drama, tension and grandiose intrigue.
Pumping modern soul with dynamic vocals and expansive choruses. Spoken vocals, rap, falsetto soul and backing harmonies all feature strongly over a solid beat and percussive textures. Moments of tenderness and love mixed with fuller, urban tones create a real diversity throughout, resulting in an inventive and ever changing sound of positivity and heartfelt, honest sincerity.
A moving cinematic track featuring a piano lead, spacious background chorals, and soft glockenspiel fills
Dirty dubstep, smashed up with industrial percussion, robotic vocals and punching basslines. Kind of sleazy in a heavy electronic way, but not without a certain playfulness in the warped vocals, and verging on experimental with its chopped, dropped in, dropped out mannerisms. A real hyped up future beat.
It all depends on how you're feeling. On the one hand, this is a deep, soul searching soundscape of profound, inner vibrations - an electronic soup of slowly evolving tones, drones and unresolved mutations that leads you to mysterious places and intriguing discovery, safe in the knowledge that at this pace, you'll have the time to fall into it's myriad hypnotic states. On the other hand, it's the soundtrack to your worst, most isolated horror nightmares and the darkest, creepiest underworld you never want to visit. The choice is yours - it's just a question of context.
Whilst most of us would reach for the nearest packet of painkillers in times of need, others might be tempted by a more sonic dose of cellular and sensory treatment. 174 Hz acts like energetic anaesthesia and is supposedly great for relieving a person from tension and pain, so this well targeted soundscape of minimalist electronic tones set in a cloud of ethereal ambience might be just the medication you need. Lie back, soak it in, and let yourself float to wherever you want.
Downtempo chill out track - mellow, cool and easy going. Using a familiar lo-fi beat playing on the back of the beat for an exaggerated laid-back effect, the jazziness comes from simple, clean electric guitar and subtle, steady bass. Add in ambient pads and textures, and your head will have a stress free time as you calmly watch the clouds drift by.
Gloriously ambient track with a heavy cinematic leaning. Building a bed of tension through soft piano and strings, it breaks into an expressive outpouring of reflective emotion, using a dynamic cello lead and chiming guitar. It's a theme that returns with more complexity and intensity, but manages to keep it's fragile, delicate sensitivity with a calming yet weighty vibe. Slow paced, and all the more powerful for it.
Fragile soundscape of delicate piano surrounded by ambient texture. Haunting and mesmerizing, it's both beautiful in its minimalist structure and simple piano theme, and 'other-wordly' in its background of warped, glitched and filtered elements, gradually building to a hung climax of distorted solitude. Dramatic in its tension, and ranging from menacing to euphoric in its slow building transition.
An uncomplicated yet profound piece of meditational soundscape that's equally at home as a thought-provoking, new age track as it is the background to a disturbing psychological scene, such is the potential for intrigue and tension in such a minimalist, dark electronic piece. The 285 Hz frequency targets your energy field and supposedly helps in the fast healing of burns, fractures, sprains and cuts - somewhat ironic if it ends up in the soundtrack to a psycho-gore flick.
Epic and cinematic track tinged with a sense of sorrow, regret and desperation. It remains a huge orchestral event, full of brass braams, powerful drums and rich strings, but there's always a sense of yearning in the chord progressions and themes, making for very distinct and specific trailer music.
Energetic synth rock with one foot firmly in the 80s. Simple but effective, it's a short, hyped up theme featuring drums, bass, guitar and a big dose of retro synth leads. Add in a few textures and warp them up - you've got the soundtrack to an emerging video game generation. Think neon colours, headbands and sci-fi.
An epic trailer to a triumphant fantasy. Combining the majestic heroism of big, bold brass with the energetic battle of string ostinato, all to a hard hitting dubstep beat, it's a grand statement of cinematic power with a modern hybrid feel. With deep synth pulses, stutters and plenty of grit, it's full of dynamism and confidence that creates an inspirational and overwhelmingly dramatic feel of glory combined with tension.
A modern hip hop / urban instrumental, existing to create a vibe and nothing more. Simple, chilled and with a rich depth, there are 3 variations within the track, each with subtle differences but keeping the dark, background mood throughout. Sombre, reflective, edgy and steady.
Old school, lo-fi hip hop with a dreamy, trippy haze. Very chill, using simple delayed guitar melodies and soft, laid back keyboard lines to create a calm, relaxed groove playing on the back of the beat.
A heart-pounding, thrilling orchestral segment featuring ethnic percussion hits, tense strings and cinematic sound elements
Ambient tension builder and countdown, with a very time-based, percussive feel. Lightweight and unobtrusive, yet intense enough to generate a feeling of time pressure, it uses a clicking beat, digital style arpeggio background, a repeated xylophone motif and a soft pad to create a short theme perfect for news themes, audio logos and quiz countdowns.
