A tense action epic. The title may be a bit misleading if you're expecting the classic John Williams score, but there's certainly dramatic tension and plenty of big screen atmosphere. Accentuated off-beat rhythms using percussion and strings, raspy brass swells and enhancing woodwinds all contribute to an edgy, pointed piece with a dark and sinister side.

Building on a brooding start of rich brass and choral aahs, the theme develops through percussion and strings to become a fully symphonic motif. With gothic overtones thanks to the choral themes and cinematic fantasy thanks to the repeated glockenspiel and piano motifs, the horror seeds are planted early on to generate the brooding atmosphere. With a deep, rolling bass line and booming percussion enhanced by synth drops, brass rasps and jagged strings, it soon becomes a nightmarish mix of ominous energy and overwhelming helplessness.

All the classic ingredients are on show: wah wah guitar, steady keyboard chords, stabbing brass section, silky strings, expansive percussion....but the real funk drive comes from the bouncing bass line giving the piece its identity right from the start so you're in no doubt what's coming, and it doesn't disappoint. A real lively slice of retro funk with exquisite attention to detail that's as cool as it is authentic.

Frantic, nervy, edgy - this is a real orchestral epic full of tension and 20th Century classical leanings. Making full use of textural string swarms, brass stabs and an underlying percussive accent, it manages to build to an action blockbuster feel, with dramatic mania from woodwind flurries and an overall dynamism that never settles. A strong military feel, with a mix of gothic darkness and mischeivous endeavour in a cinematic package.

A touch of fantasy is brought in by the harp in an otherwise scene-setting track of determined grandeur and combative qualities, mixing calmer reflection with aggression.
