Brooding legato string passages juxtapose the neverending pound of the drums while electric guitars harmonise like a symphony orchestra for a dynamic action piece that starts intense, and just gets stronger. With its hard hitting drum loops and gritty industrial synth filler, you'd be hard pressed not to get at least a little bit hyped up from the unrelenting energy and force created. One half manic build up, one half pounding release, it's what you'd hear before boarding a space themed roller coaster.

Frantic, nervy, edgy - this is a real orchestral epic full of tension and 20th Century classical leanings. Making full use of textural string swarms, brass stabs and an underlying percussive accent, it manages to build to an action blockbuster feel, with dramatic mania from woodwind flurries and an overall dynamism that never settles. Very engaging and wonderfully executed.

If I say 'pirates' and you think 'Caribbean', then we both know where this is heading. With more than a passing reference to a certain well-known theme, it's every bit as swashbuckling, unleashing the full power of a cinematic orchestra and its percussive ensemble. Having said that, it does have slightly less seafaring tendencies and could easily lend itself to many other action settings from thrillers to adventure scenes, given its generally sterner feel. Epic stuff.
