Dreamy indie track with a surprise. A vibraphone intro sets the spacey tone, continued by lazy vocals, tremolo guitar and piano backed by a steady beat. Background harmonies float in to build the atmosphere as the track evolves into an unexpected epic wall of sound - big distorted guitars, huge bass, pounding drums ....... before returning to the more serene state we had settled into. Dreamy and hypnotic - for the most part. Be warned!
Indie garage rock song, with lots of added synth grit. Steady paced and rock solid, it features a cool bass groove over a strong beat with off beat electric guitar and warped synth textures and leads. Background vocals add harmony to the main male vocal, growing more distorted throughout the song for a dirty, lo-fi effect that adds intensity and interest to a track full of swagger and attitude.
A soft piano piece that slowly travels through a variety of emotions. Gently paced with a subtle, modern background beat that drops in and out, it has cinematic qualities due to the added string orchestration and reverb, and a slight lift near the end as arpeggiated acoustic guitar enhances the atmosphere. Soothing thanks to the soft instrumentation and tempo, airy and floating from background textures and uncomplicated thanks to the simplicity of the piano, it has all the features of a relaxing, meditative track with a modern touch.
Moody indie rock track, built on a bed of palm muted guitar, wailing synth, laid back bass and steady rock drums. Intimate male vocals help create the atmospheric and melancholic feel. It stays hypnotically stable throughout, adding a slight intensity and angst towards the end as the synth lead developes.
What a happy track. Normally you'd be excused for thinking it's just another ukulele/glockenspiel track with an overly cheerful whistle, but wait ... a touch of realism in the form of a brass section arrives to save the day, transforming it into a more authentic and slightly novel kids/corporate tune. Upbeat, gently warm and of course, bursting with sunshine-y positivity.
Folk pop, with a trip. A lightweight track mixing simple folk guitar with a melodic bass line and spaced male vocals. Scratchy electronica adds an eclectic touch to an otherwise steady and dreamy piece. Upbeat and cheerful, but definitely focusing on other states of mind.
Beautiful soft cinematic track with digital undertones. Gentle and free flowing, it mixes an electronic background feel with the elegance of the orchestra for an inspirational and reflective ambience. Mid paced and calming with a nice pulsed animation, its uplifting nature and slightly heroic, epic tinges make it a great piece for trailers, documentaries and commercials, as well as many scenes requiring a sensitive and thought provoking vibe.
Action packed, adrenaline fuelled percussive glitch rock. Stop/start in nature, introducing multiple takes on a central electric guitar riff theme, making the track a jerky, punchy accompaniment before eventually loosening up into a more traditionally rock styled, hard hitting, half time feel smash. But not for long. Like a hyperactive child fed too much sugar, it's off again and bouncing off the walls in an upbeat, hyped up blur of buzzing sensationalism. Erratic indie garage rock for the gaming generation.
I'm not sure 'corporate dubstep' is a legitimate musical genre, but let's go with it anyway. Mix the uplifting and inspirational values of the best business presentations with the hit of synth stabs and energetic drumbeat from the dance clubs and there it is. Lots of plucks, risers and drops, heaps of rhythmic pulse and featuring guitars smothered in delay, it works as a steadily energetic motivational track designed to inspire and invigorate.
Beautifully flowing Spanish guitar track. Flamenco rhythms, hand claps, percussion and smooth bass combine for a full dose of Latin energy, capturing the movement and attitude of Spanish music. Featuring a calm mid section breakdown without percussion to contrast with the passionate main themes, it's an energetic yet cool piece, with a sultry vibe.
A soulful take on the corporate style track, remaining corporate nonetheless. Soft delayed piano kicks off the gentle intro, staying with us throughout as clean guitar, drums, bass, strings and glockenspiel all break through to forge a more usual sense of uplifting inspiration and encouragement. Gently meandering and slightly pensive, it has a more authentic feel than most in the genre.
Unmistakably corporate, but wrapped in a much more cinematic packaging that lends itself to a slightly different kind of project to the usual happy-go-lucky ukulele style. Soft strings and woodwinds, floaty piano and smooth bass calmly set about creating a gently paced atmosphere of cool composure and confident assurance. Add in a clean electric guitar for a little bit of lead and you have a nicely melodic track with a hint of mystery, a coating of elegance and a filing cabinet of entrepreneurial feels.
A smooth pop/reggae crossover song that will transport you to a tropical island with Mai Tai in hand. Luscious male/female harmonies catch the ear instantly, soon followed by slick guitar runs as it settles into a familiar offbeat groove. Guitar solos, clean deep bass, tight drums and an overwhelming spirit of good times and perseverance are its backbone. The happy-go-lucky smile you get is just a bonus.
Dance into the Caribbean night with this feel good track. Featuring steel drums and electric guitar for the melody, and to create the classic West Indies sound, it's the pounding rhythm section of percussive drums and lively bass that generate the movement, helped by lots of 'call/response' phrasing throughout. A short breakdown of delayed keyboard over hand drums and shaker freshens things up, ready for the return of the main theme to finish. Happy days.
Atmospheric chill pop, beautifully produced to give an inspirational and emotional lift. Imagine sunsets and sunrises, vast natural landscapes, the power of the ocean ...... you get the picture. Using mostly electric guitars, piano and light trap beats, and sprinkling the track with textures and sound design elements, you sense the the build up of energy into a wonderful reveal of positivity. Serene and majestic.
Slightly mysterious retro rock theme. Acoustic guitar and female oohs feature over a solid drum beat before brass enters for a South American feel and a searing synth lead takes over. Part psychedelia, part spaghetti Western, it's a downbeat track with melancholic vibes.
A gentle slice of modern background music, mixing a bright sunshine vibe with a more atmospheric, night time feel. The lively intro is a bit misleading - it takes on a slightly darker ambient vibe instead of kicking into a generic house track, delicately resonating simple guitar themes and soft pads over an electro beat. Thoughtful and chilled, delving a little deeper than at first expected.
A driving, funk jazz track. All the classic ingredients are on show: wah wah guitar, steady keyboard chords, stabbing brass section, silky strings, expansive percussion....but the real funk drive comes from the bouncing bass line giving the piece its identity right from the start so you're in no doubt what's coming, and it doesn't disappoint. A real lively slice of retro funk with exquisite attention to detail that's as cool as it is authentic.
A melodic rock song mixing heavily distorted guitar with indie pop vocals. Lots of fuzz and feedback give an over the top, chaotic feel to the track while the pounding drums keep it grounded. Add in softer arpeggiated guitar and tuneful vocals to the verses, and you have a contrasting sense of soft playfulness and out of control energy.
