Immediately dramatic and intense, through single repeated piano notes and suspenseful violin harmonics, there's an ethnic edge in the instrumentation merging with strings and oboe as the piece turns darker with rich bass and dissonant textures. Ambient and brooding throughout with a tragic, heroic feel to the second half due to a sweeping string and brass melody accompanied by added timpani and rhythm, it remains a calm yet slightly unsettling piece with outstanding tension.

Accentuated off-beat rhythms using percussion and strings, raspy brass swells and enhancing woodwinds all contribute to an edgy, pointed piece with a dark and sinister side.
