Alternating between celtic flute and fiddle passages, it has an authentic feel of a shindig from the Middle Ages, only giving a nod to more modern times with a rolling guitar theme. Unsurprisingly, the beat comes from a bodhran and tambourine and conjures up images of dance, drink and good times, only pausing for a more subdued and reflective mid section.

Frantic, nervy, edgy - this is a real orchestral epic full of tension and 20th Century classical leanings. Making full use of textural string swarms, brass stabs and an underlying percussive accent, it manages to build to an action blockbuster feel, with dramatic mania from woodwind flurries and an overall dynamism that never settles. Very engaging and wonderfully executed.
