If I say 'pirates' and you think 'Caribbean', then we both know where this is heading. With more than a passing reference to a certain well-known theme, it's every bit as swashbuckling, unleashing the full power of a cinematic orchestra and its percussive ensemble. Having said that, it does have slightly less seafaring tendencies and could easily lend itself to many other action settings from thrillers to adventure scenes, given its generally sterner feel. Epic stuff.

Some post midnight, chill hop sensuality. Soft mood lighting with a comforting intimacy, slow dances round the living room, the smell of late night heat and unfinished cocktails - its the soul inspired, jazzy electric piano vibes and cosy beat that does it. Laid back, ambient, minimal and above all, sexy.

The title says 'News', but in truth, it's more than that. It certainly has a current affairs/political theme running through it, with its grand orchestral hits, tension-building ascensions, string ostinato, tremolo, percussive chimes and brass swells, but capturing such a cinematic dynamic opens it up to many other uses where a time-led intensity is required. Think James Bond on a deadline.  

Frantic, nervy, edgy - this is a real orchestral epic full of tension and 20th Century classical leanings. Making full use of textural string swarms, brass stabs and an underlying percussive accent, it manages to build to an action blockbuster feel, with dramatic mania from woodwind flurries and an overall dynamism that never settles. Very engaging and wonderfully executed.

Epic and cinematic track tinged with a sense of sorrow, regret and desperation. It remains a huge orchestral event, full of brass braams, powerful drums and rich strings, but there's always a sense of yearning in the chord progressions and themes, making for very distinct and specific trailer music.

Simple and lightweight folk pop with an upbeat feel. Slightly corporate, but the overriding vibe is an easy going, happy and inspiring one, using acoustic guitar, piano and strings over an unfussy rhythm section. Cheerful, no frills backing music.

A really soft piece of mood music, with a beautifully elegant uplift. Cinematic in style thanks largely to sweeping strings and soft piano, it also features acoustic guitar and a strong ethnic influence, using bamboo flutes and Chinese stylings to transport your mind elsewhere. Emotional, inspiring and atmospheric.

Inspirational theme with a full cinematic hit. Starting with an Aboriginal flavour for a sense of vast, faraway lands, it's soon transformed into an epic orchestral piece, full of drama and tension through percussive hits, brass swells and string ostinato. Grand and majestic with an adventurous, action filled undertone, it also hits the inspirational and awesome buttons.

'Epic' isn't always reserved for heroic battle music. To prove the point, here is an atmospheric piano based track that manages to build it's 'epicness' through inspirational chord progressions and dramatic instrumentation. And plenty of reverb. With an airy background shimmer, bright piano leads us to clean electric guitar to transport us to a bold, dreamlike state of uplifting calm, blooming into a full, rich wave of invigorating sensation with prominent lush strings. No booming percussion, no fast ostinato, just a beautifully cinematic flight into the clouds.

Building on a bed of ethnic inspired gamelan-like hits, a sense of modern urban grit seeps in from the beat and synth textures, whilst maintaining an almost ethereal ambience of free falling and tranquility. A real vibe of wonder and organic reflection.

Asian world music track inspired by traditional Japanese culture. Mixing rich synth pads and textures with traditional instruments, harmonies and melodies, this is an unmistakeable slice of the Orient. Soothing and meditative, featuring a continuous running water backdrop, and rhythmically enhanced by taiko drums, risers and cymbals, it's a stable and gentle piece that offers a flavour of the East with a subtle ebb and flow to the intensity.

Cinematic dubstep with a promise to explode - but doesn't. A great tension builder with a foreboding intensity that grows through palm muted electric guitars, epic horns and synth textures. Mixing orchestral themes with aggressive rock and a slamming beat generates the powerful anticipation. After that, it's up to you where you position it, but it can hit hard.

Massively strong and confident with a self assured majesty.

The lively intro is a bit misleading - it takes on a slightly darker ambient vibe instead of kicking into a generic house track, delicately resonating simple guitar themes and soft pads over an electro beat. Thoughtful and chilled, delving a little deeper than at first expected.

I'm not sure 'corporate dubstep' is a legitimate musical genre, but let's go with it anyway. Mix the uplifting and inspirational values of the best business presentations with the hit of synth stabs and energetic drumbeat from the dance clubs and there it is. Lots of plucks, risers and drops, heaps of rhythmic pulse and featuring guitars smothered in delay, it works as a steadily energetic motivational track designed to inspire and invigorate.

All the niceties you'd expect from a corporate track, with superbly crafted production. Nothing overly fancy, just mostly rhythmically satisfying plucks, a simple beat and smooth strings to generate the melody. Uplifting and motivational, soft and animated, energising and inspirational - it gently ticks all the boxes for its genre.

Beautiful piano piece, with a delicate, rolling style reminiscent of Yann Tiersen. Cinematic and motivational, it's backed up by gentle percussion and silky legato strings to create a moving, continuously developing track of inspiration and optimism. Soothing and energising at the same time.
