Music tracks
Acoustic medieval inspired track generating a fantasy vibe. It has a gentle 6/8 flow to give it a sense of dance and movement, and tries to keep its authenticity through the instrumentation; led by a (just about medieval) harpsichord, it's accompanied by simple beating percussion, harp, flute and maybe even a hint of hurdy-gurdy. If you're thinking of gentle fantasy folk from the Middle Ages, you're on the right track.
Latin America welcomes a breath from the Middle East in this pop/rock fusion track. High energy with a great groove, Arabic influenced melodies on strings and guitars play with cooler South American keyboard and guitar themes, each having their moment to shine whilst maintaining that percussive rock feel. Upbeat and ready to party from start to finish, it's sensual, animated and highly charged in the coolest of World grooves.
Sultry New age Lounge instrumental with a smokey, jazzy feel. A rich backing of organ pads, picked guitar, electric bass and rimshot drumbeat support the muted trumpet solo which takes centre stage. Meandering loosely throughout the piece, it has a downtempo, chilled, and slightly ambiguous vibe as if uncertain of its next step, creating a sense of melancholy and a journey into the unknown.
Playful instrumental track in a Celtic/Mediaeval folk style. Alternating between celtic flute and fiddle passages, it has an authentic feel of a shindig from the Middle Ages, only giving a nod to more modern times with a rolling guitar theme. Unsurprisingly, the beat comes from a bodhran and tambourine and conjures up images of dance, drink and good times, only pausing for a more subdued and reflective mid section.
Rhythmically and musically diverse orchestral piece. Interesting to the point of experimentation due to the dissonances and jerky rhythms, it is inherently a classically inspired composition with 20th Century music influences. A sense of the bizarre mixed with battle drum percussion, you have fast, chaotic woodwinds interjecting with off beat brass stabs and a prominent choir echoing and mirroring the main themes. A strong military feel, with a mix of gothic darkness and mischeivous endeavour in a cinematic package.
Hypnotic and ethereal ambient piano soundscape, with lo-fi feels and a deep sense of trippy mysticism and satisfaction. Simple and gentle piano, lifted by spacey reverb and delay, is the main focus, punctuated with sonic textures and subtle synth patterns. The lack of chordal resolution keeps the track deliberately vague and ungrounded, generating a slow paced tension and release throughout.
A sparklingly clean and bright audio logo - fresh, soft and with a space age whoosh to introduce a more organic resonance. New age and well-being mixed with a little 'digital corporate'.
A dive into a deeper state of consciousness through ethereal throat singing and resonant vocals. Like the lightest of clouds and deepest of sleeps, it transports you into a mystical world of meditation with rich harmonies and tones, gently pushed on with a light taiko drum beat. Always serene, with almost cinematic qualities, it brings out an inner reflection to a wider expanse.
639 Hz - a frequency filled with love, radiance, and positive energy. It's the frequency of the heart, but don't expect James Blunt style whinings. This is a meditation soundscape designed to go much deeper, whistling straight into your inner core with haunting tones and evolving sound design. As useful for cinematic ambience as it is for spiritual energising, it's said to help you build harmonious relationships with others. Might work better than a mix tape of 80's love ballads.
Deeply resonant meditation track, seeping into your mind on an airy cloud of soft pads and ethereal throat singing. Very calming and serenely free flowing, it floats by almost effortlessly to transport you to a more spiritual place - a world of mystery, openness and positive energy.
Hopefully no-one tries listening to this on a cheap phone speaker or $1 headphones - the majority of it just won't be there. That's because, like all the best sounds, it's all about the bass. This ancient solfeggio frequency of 69.3 Hz is the lowest and lesser-known tone and is supposed to act as a resonance deepener. Mixing lush, soothing tones and ethereal sounds with the richness of the almost rumbling bass gives off a warm, comforting vibe of spiritual contentment, sure to soothe and invigorate in equal measure.
Whilst most of us would reach for the nearest packet of painkillers in times of need, others might be tempted by a more sonic dose of cellular and sensory treatment. 174 Hz acts like energetic anaesthesia and is supposedly great for relieving a person from tension and pain, so this well targeted soundscape of minimalist electronic tones set in a cloud of ethereal ambience might be just the medication you need. Lie back, soak it in, and let yourself float to wherever you want.
An uncomplicated yet profound piece of meditational soundscape that's equally at home as a thought-provoking, new age track as it is the background to a disturbing psychological scene, such is the potential for intrigue and tension in such a minimalist, dark electronic piece. The 285 Hz frequency targets your energy field and supposedly helps in the fast healing of burns, fractures, sprains and cuts - somewhat ironic if it ends up in the soundtrack to a psycho-gore flick.
Solemn and whistful piano solo. Beautifully romantic or darkly tragic depending on your current mood, there is a small sense of triumph in the more animated middle section of arpeggios and grandiose melody. Otherwise, it's a simple and delicate theme that asks questions without ever being imposing or even expecting an answer.
